Laser & IPL (Intense Pilse Light) PDT A: PDT works in combination with
light or laser sources to combat the effects of sun damage. It works
by targeting the sun damaged skin, reducing red and brown spots in
the skin, This non-invasive photorejuvenation treatment has been
shown to improve sun damaged areas and improve texture and overall
appearance.
Q:
Light Therapy for ACNE A: Used in conjunction with a blue light for the effective treatment of
acne. This procedure improves acne by targeting sebaceous glands and
bacteria which are destroyed in the PDT treatment by the blue light.
Q:
Will I feel any discomfort? A: Most patients experience minimal discomfort . during PDT therapy
within the standard course of . treatment. The procedure usually
takes less than an hour to perform. Expect slight redness and
peeling/flaking of the outer skin cells up to 3-4 days following
treatment. Under the light source you will feel slight warmth, but
will not receive a tan. You will need to stay indoors for 24 hours
following the procedure and avoid light since the PDT therapy is
still active.
